I've been building PC's for myself for years, more recently I have offered this service at a cost to friends and family. I'll also have a crack at repairs on a no repair no fee basis.
Something to think about..... Whatever you do don't let just anyone poke around inside your PC, without suitable anti-static precautions static discharges can easily damage the computer. If you're lucky the components will fail straight away but more likely is that static discharges will produce latent defects that could take months or years before the component fails during this time you'll have collected a mound of data that doesn't get backed up and you stand to loose the lot. The true value of a computer isn't the purchase cost but also the data held within
So far I have not had any PC's I built needing repair nor had any repaired PC's returned so I guess I must be doing something right. If you're experiencing problems or just need some advice then drop me an email
